Jo was born and raised in a devoutly Christian household in the Philippines. Providing elderly care is an innate quality in Jo as she grew up in a Filipino community where it is common to have grandparents residing in a typical Filipino household. As a single mom of two, she also cared for her sick daughter who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 2 years. She and her daughter battled cancer for 4 years and with God’s grace, her daughter has been cancer-free for 15 years, and is now pursuing a degree in nursing at Regis University. Following her 2nd marriage in 2013, Jo relocated with her family to India for 2 years where her husband worked as an expat. In 2015 she and her family permanently moved to the U.S. and in 2018, Jo made the switch from assistant kindergarten teacher to offering elder care services. Jo very quickly found her heart leading her to working primarily with seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and dementia. Jo has a heart full of empathy and compassion, and anyone who has spent time with her sees the genuine care that she gives to the seniors she comes in connection with. In addition to her years of practical experience as an elder caregiver, Jo is QMAP and First-AidCertified and she also brings a Certificate in Assisted Living Administration to her role with Agape.
